Wednesday:  Prefix/Suffix list for quiz #1 and #2

Thursday:  Lab: Language of Science Stations

Friday:  Prefix/Suffix Quiz #1; Social Lesson

Monday:  Review last weeks test over Atoms–file; Retakes will be on Wednesday; Language of Science: Science has a language all it’s own.  We will learn how to break large words into smaller ones to determine the meaning.

Tuesday:  Vocabulary Activity using our Language of Science prefix/suffix lists.

Wednesday:  catch up day for makeup and retests.  Many students have been out due to illness.  We will use this day to get caught up since we will not be able to have tutoring due to the Homecoming Pep Rally.

Thursday:  Lab:  Build the Derrick–students will be given a sack of materials to build a derrick that will be able to withstand weight.  Winners will get a prize!!!!

Friday:  History of the Oil Boom/Derricks.   IT’S HOMECOMING!!!!!  Pep Rally at 2:00.

Monday:  Labor Day Holiday

Tuesday:  Elements to know quiz #2; Periodic Table Puns…partner activity

Wednesday:  Periodic Table Puns continued partner work…grade at the end of class.

Thursday:  Our first LAB: Drops on a Penny Lab—Hypothesize the amount of drops that will fit on the surface of a penny….what are variables that could change the outcome from one group to the next….what is surface tension?

Friday:  Test: Atoms

Monday:  Elements to know #1….16 elements to learn by memory.  Quiz on Wednesday; Notes on Counting Neutrons

Tuesday:  Atoms Family Challenge…complete and grade at the end of class. Review

Wednesday:  Elements to Know #1 Quiz and get Elements to Know #2

Thursday:  Periodic Table Puns…Activity on becoming more familiar with the periodic table of elements

Friday:  Periodic Table Parts Test

Monday:  Safety Symbols Identification…..Test on Friday

Tuesday:  Periodic Table Reference Sheet entered into Journal for later use; Period Table Parts Identification

Wednesday:  Lab Safety Test…refer back to your Lab safety sheet in your journal on page 2.

Thursday:  Matter and Energy-Notes–Parts of an Atom review

Friday:  Safety Symbols Test; 16 elements to Know (quiz will be next week)

Wednesday: Today we will take up any supplies that you may have brought.  We will get our journals set up. “meet and greet” time for me to get to know you.

Thursday:  We will review classroom expectations, Google Classroom and BLOG sign ups.

Friday:  Lab Contract and what is expected during lab days.

Tuesday:  TEK 7.6 Matter and Energy 6A Distinguish between physical and chemical changes in the Digestive System–learning the parts of the digestive system

Thursday:  Quiz over Prefix/Suffix #1; Get new words/meanings (quiz next Tuesday); continue with Prefix/Suffix WS
